The Book Fair is coming to Forest Lake Elementary!

Join us for our Spring  book fair May 15 - May 22, 2009..

. Would you consider helping out in the media center during the book fair???  We need volunteers to help students choose books, cashier, and set-up and break down the fair.

**FCAT TIPS at Home** 

• Create a special place for you and your child to read together.

• Read to your child and listen to your child read for 30 minutes.

• Talk about what you have read.  Encourage your child to make predictions, give opinions, thoughts, ideas, connections, and questions about what you have read.

• Read a book that is also a movie.  Watch the movie after reading the book and then ask your child:  What was different?  What was the same?  Practice an important FCAT skill called "Compare and Contrast."

• Emphasize how rewards and dreams come true as a result of good behavior and dedicated study.

when you are looking for a book!

The Forest Lake Media Center is always appreciative of gifts and donations.  All gifts will be assessed using the same criteria that we use for all items added to our collection. If a donation is appropriate and in excellent condition, it may be added to our library collection or it may be offered to a classroom teacher. As always... we appreciate your support!
