| The Forest Lake Elementary Art Glass Memorial was the idea of our art teacher, Mrs. Boni Meddock. When talking with students after the September 11th tragedy... she felt the importance of planning a way for each child to be included in a project to memorialize the day. Mrs. Meddock wrote a grant and received support from the school, parents, and the community. | ||

Every student, teacher and staff person in the school inserted a piece of glass into the flag. |

Students added the red and white glass, Teachers and staff added the stars and blue glass. |
||
|
The dedication and unveiling ceremony was May 10, 2002. Several students read original poetry for the occasion, the Performance Ensemble sang, dignitaries were introduced and the flag was unveiled. *************************************************** Many
students wrote patriotic poetry and essays in preparation for the Art
Glass Memorial dedication. Shayna and Matthew's works
were selected to be read at the ceremony. View
